What Is An IoT Device?

An IoT device is a piece of hardware that can be programmed for certain applications. It collects & exchanges data wirelessly over the internet, to help gain insight into information such as; water damage early identification & prevention, asset tracking, building monitoring (temp etc.), air quality monitoring and more.

These hardware devices include but are not limited to;

  • Sensors
  • Appliances
  • Actuators
  • Gadgets etc.
How Can I Turn HNT Into USD?

Converting your HNT crypto into US dollars is something that can be completed on an exchange such as Binance or FTX (formerly Blockfolio). Essentially you would convert your HNT into USDT, BTC or another cryptocurrency that you find suitable.

From there you can cash out your USDT (or other crypto) or keep your earnings on the blockchain.

How Much Can You Earn Mining?

The amount of HNT that you can generate in a day, week or a month. Is determined mainly by the chosen hotspot device, the location of this device, along with how dense the nodes are nearby.

Is My Hotspot Sharing Bandwidth?

This is one of the first things we were wondering. Yes, you will be sharing your bandwidth. However, the amount of data that will be transferred is only a fraction of the data that you normally transfer when using most of your electronic devices. Technically it is only sharing IoT data packets.

In other words, it should not interrupt your work or other daily tasks. Such as; regular internet browsing, video streaming or gaming.

Can I Relocate My Hotspot?

Yes.

Does My Hotspot Need To Be Connected At All Times?

Yes. Your hotspot must be connected to the internet in order to communicate with the blockchain.

Is This Helping To Push 5G?

As per our research, no. The wireless signal does deal with radio waves. Those radio waves are above the level of FM radio. They do not transmit a lot of data and are not influenced or needed by a 5G network.
